When should I change the media in my Model 5000 Electronic Air Cleaner?
The media will typically last one year. If installed on a 5-ton system or in the presence of high concentration of particulate, it may need to be changed more frequently.
What is the media constructed of?
All of the media types (201, 401, 501, 261, 275) are made of bonded glass micro-fibers.
What is the MERV rating of the Model 5000?
The test required to determine a MERV rating for an air cleaner specifies the use of a special dust that has the result of reducing the performance of all electronic air cleaners (not just Aprilaire’s). For that reason Aprilaire was unable to determine the MERV rating of the Model 5000.
A Word About SPACE-GARD®
